Welcome to the PFIC Research Library
This research library contains a number of summaries of scientific articles about PFIC and related diseases. All articles have been summarized by a committee of experts.
This is an exciting time in PFIC research. In the early 90s, a big year in PFIC research might have meant a single published article. Fast forward to now and over 21 articles were published in 2020 alone. It can be hard to stay on top of all the latest research and to understand what we have learned. To make this important research more accessible to PFIC patients and families, we have recruited scientific experts to write lay summaries for our community. Members of our Medical Advisory Board have reviewed these summaries for accuracy.
We selected the articles in the research library based on community interest and suggestions from board members. We plan to expand this library to provide an overview of past and present research to assist the community in learning more about PFIC and related diseases. If you have found an article that you would like our team to summarize for you, please contact us with the attached article and let us know!
Where to Start
If you are not familiar with scientific articles and different types of research, please take a moment to review our Research Library Fact Sheet. This fact sheet provides an overview of the differences between different types of studies and papers and factors to consider when reading an article.
